HOHCS Milestone

1950s - 60s

1950 :

A group of foreign missionaries provide medical assistance to Chinese refugees fleeing the war and moving to Tiaojingling

1953 :

Sister annie (left) came to Hong Kong from Norway, and together with missionaries such as Pastor Helen Sun (middle) from Scotland, established the "Tseung Kwan O District Medical Aid Association" and established the "Tiu Keng Leng Christian Medical Centre" near the Tiu Keng Leng Pier ”, donated medicine

1954 :

Typhoon "Edai" hits Hong Kong, seaside lung wards destroyed by strong winds

1955 :

Haven of Hope Pulmonary Nursing Home laid the foundation stone and opened. In the same year, the Nursing School was established.

1958 :

The first class of nursing school students graduated.

1961 :

The Chapel was completed. In the same year, the Enguang Nursing Association was established to take care of the children of patients with lung diseases.

1965 :

"Haven of Hope Nursing Home" relocated to Anderson Road

1970s - 80s

1976 :

Haven of Hope Pulmonary Nursing Home changed its name to Haven of Hope Hospital.

1980 :

Haven Hospital was rebuilt and the new hospital was completed in 1997.

1989 :

Start the social health services

1990s

1990 :

“Junk Bay Medical Relief Council” renamed as “Haven of Hope Christian Service”.

1991 :

Eight clinics have been put into service one after another.

1993 :

Expand services for the elderly.

1995 :

Reconstruction of Haven of Hope Sunny Side School. In 1996, the new school building opened. .

1997 :

HOHCS is promoting Hong Kong's first healthy city in Sai Kung and Tseung Kwan O.

1999 :

Opening of HOHCS Woo Ping Care & Attention Home.

1999 :

Launch of Sister Annie Skau Nursing Home.

2000s

2005 :

Establishment of the Haven of Hope Holistic Care Centre (HCC).

2006 :

Launching the Chinese Medicine services.

2007 :

Haven of Hope Professional and Continuing Education was established to train nursing talents.

2012 :

Haven of Hope Day and Rehabilitation Centre for the Elderly (Island East) opened.

2014 :

Launch of Night Care Centre, which was Pioneered in the territory.

2014 :

Integration of Haven of Hope Sister Annie Skau Holistic Care Centre.

2016 :

The Haven Project started

2015 :

Launch of Extended Service Hour at Day Care Centre for the Elderly at Yee Ming Estate.

2020 :

Launching a ten-year service plan - "Vision 2030".

2021 :

The Xinwangai Building of the new hospital of Haven of Hope was completed.
